Happy Halloween - Marin County Photographer

Halloween is always a fun time of year for me when I get the opportunity to dress up.  One of my favorite things on Halloween is when I'm driving to work, to peek into people's cars while they are on the way to work and check out how funny they look (I can only image what they thought of me yesterday!!).

My costume was great and everyone loved it even though it was a last minute throw together because Plan A fell apart the night before. Hubby and I had ordered costumes online (which I've never had an issue with before) and we were set to be a 20's gangster and a ritzy flapper.  I was sooooooo looking forward to my costume.  The box arrived Thursday and when opened it that evening I was disappointed to find out they had not sent the most important part of my costume; the dress!!!!! In its place was a Viking Vixen.......how they thought that went well with a flapper wig and boa is beyond me.  Of course, it wasn't suitable for work so I was so bummed and was worried I had no costume to wear.

I was determined to find something to wear to work after how much I had making sure others at work were dressing up. I couldn't show up in regular work attire.  It was then I remembered I own a long black wig with blue highlights;  GOTH it was going to be!!  I had so much fun putting this together. Who can go wrong with all black?? Just need to do some heavy, dark make-up and some goth-like jewelry and I was set!  Here's a pic of me at work.

Couldn't smile...it didn't go with the get up. I had some fun snapping some shots of my co-workers to add to the company photos.  Being a photographer they naturally just expected me to.  How could I say no...doing loan banking work or play with my camera...DUH!! Obvious. ;)  FYI, for any co-workers that ready this. I love my job. I love my job. I love my job.  Heehee.   Take a look at my co-workers that also got into the Halloween spirit this year!

Dream Come True: Petaluma Wedding Photographer

Heather and Efrain, two very fun but very down to earth and very much in love people became, as their friends so lovingly named them, Hefrain on Saturday, October 24th.  I have known Heather for about four years. We once upon a time worked at the same mortgage lender in San Rafael.  Because there were so many fun and fantastic people that worked together many of us stayed in touch after going our separate ways, career wise.  I can not express how grateful and glad I am that Heather and I are still friends because I had the pleasure of photographing her wedding to Efrain.

Heather and Efrain have known each other for eight years and finally, they're dream came true.  With family and friends united they said their "I do's" and celebrated a love that is rare and so very special.

Thank you Heather and Efrain for letting me be a special part of your beautiful day!  Enjoy your honeymoon in Jamaica.

Cheers!

New Blog Name!! and a Senior Portrait Session: San Francisco Bay Area Photographer

You may have recently noticed that I changed the banner of my blog to read "Shannon Purcell Photography". At one point I used this blog to show off all of my creative outlets but because I now focus my creative energy on one main thing which has quickly boomed into a budding business as a photographer I've decided to dedicate to just that. Within the next three days the domain name of the blog will also change.

Soon you will be able to get to my blog by simply typing in www.shannonpurcellphotographyblog.com. Be sure to bookmark it as well as share it with friends, family, co-workers and anyone you know that is interested in family, baby, solo, and event photography. In addition, I will soon be expanding my portfolio to include fashion.

Finally a blog to match my website at Shannon Purcell Photography. Shannon Purcell Photography Blog

Ya'll come back now ya hear?? :o)

Cheers!

No post on this blog is worth reading without a few photos. Here are a few photos from a recent Senior Photo Shoot I was honored to do for my boss's son, Ryan. Photos taken at The Legion of Honor in San Francisco. We had a blast and Ryan was a pleasure to shoot. Thanks Ryan!

Natural Love: Half Moon Bay Photographer

If there was ever a couple that seemed so natural together it was Gordon and Nichole. It was an honor to be witness to their love for one another on such a special day and to have the opportunity to help capture the beautiful memories they made with each other.
