Engagement of Tracy & Jason - Santa Rosa Photographer

A beautiful couple that is definitely excited to start their lives together as husband and wife.

Getting this engagement session done for them wasn't the easiest with the very rainy weather we've had here the past couple of months but we finally had a small break with the rain and had a fantastic day together!  The weather couldn't have been better for it nor could the locations have been any better.

We started out at Juilliard Park which offers so many possibilities for great backgrounds and fun shots.  Then we spent a little time near Courthouse Square in downtown Santa Rosa. We were excited to see some cherry blossoms in bloom to add a touch of color to the February day.

When we met at Juilliard Park the first thing they said to me was that they are not very good in photos and need a lot of help with posing.  Were they ever wrong about that! They are a beautiful couple, great smiles and I believe their deep love helped them naturally pose. I love it when I work with a couple that are open to my posing suggestions as well as have some of their own and they were definitely that couple.  Very fun to work with and extremely nice.

Tracy and Jason, I had a wonderful time with the two of you. You have a love for each other that is clearly genuine and special and it truly shows.  I am very much looking forward to photographing your wedding in May!! Almost here! :)

Tiera & Kevin = Fun, Amazing Love! - San Francisco Bay Area Photographer

If ever there was a couple that was so much fun, passionate about each other and easy going, it's this couple!  Tiera and Kevin both have extremely cool personalities and they fit together so well.  They were so natural together that it was nearly impossible to get a bad shot of them on Sunday for their engagement session.

Because of Kevin's job he stumbled upon a fantastic location for the engagement session and I know I will go back again. We spent nearly two hours at Eckley Pier in Crockett, California. Crockett is just a little bitty old town in the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay area.  Eckley Pier offered so many possibilities for this couple to really get some great photos including and old brick building, railroad tracks, a beautiful view of the Carquinez Bridge, and old downtown, etc.

I also got to meet Kevin's "other" love...his truck! Which we managed to get some creative shots of the awesome couple with. My first time incorporating a vehicle in an engagement shoot but it was fun and very much worth it. ;)

Now that I've had the chance to get to know these two a little bit I am truly truly looking forward to photographing their wedding in August! I can already tell its going to be an extremely memorable and amazing day for them.

Tiera and Kevin, thank you so very much for the fun time following you two around Eckley Pier and Crockett! It was really cool.

P.S.  I also have to thank my hubby, Devin, for coming along to the shoot and helping me carry my equipment and being the great guy he is. xoxo

By the way...that's missletoe in the tree that they're kissing under!

See! Told you they were fun!!

Seriously...this is one of my favorites. Tiera has such a beautiful face whether she is smiling or looking badass cool.

They even climbed into this gorgeous tree I spotted on the side of the road.

Spicy and Delicious! - Novato Photographer

There once was a time when I loved to experiment with cooking...even just the simplest of recipes.  Its about time I get back to that.  In addition, one thing I love to do for a last minute meal choice is find some random things in my cupboards and fridge and throw something together.

Tonight I did just that!  And trust me, it doesn't get any simpler than this.  Its been eons since I've blogged about food so this blog is super fun for me tonight!

I had some chili which is a quick heat up, topped it with some sour cream, salsa, cheese (of course!) and parsley. But the best part is I took some corn tortillas that were about ready to be tossed and turned them into some oh-so-tasty tortillas chips.  YUMMY!!

Turns out I was out of regular olive oil and  Extra Virgin Olive Oil aka EVOO (as Rachel Ray would say) but I had some Walnut Oil (what the heck is that used for??) and substituted.  Added some kosher salt and was good to go in 10 minutes!  Hubby loved every bite of it. In fact, his exact words were "Oh Wow, this is so good!".   Can't beat that kind of response.

Here's a few photos of this ridiculously simple and quick meal to get your mouth watering.

And since this is my first blog post of the year, I hope you had a safe and memorable New Year's Eve.  Happy New Year!

Don't go too far though. Sunday I will have some new photos to share from my first photo session of the year.

Cheers!

Fresh out of the hot oven and crispy delicious!

Looks good doesn't it?? ;)

Simple and Elegant at its Most Beautiful - Ventura County Photographer

The Christmas holiday came and it went but not without a beautiful event to photograph. On Saturday, December 26th I had the pleasure and honor of photographing a beautiful couple so deeply in love with each other and their faith.

Whilst down in the Los Angeles area visiting my wonderful family I ventured off on my own for just a few hours to help a co-worker photograph her cousin's wedding. The weather was gorgeous and almost as beautiful as the ceremony and the bride and groom themselves.

It was my first time photographing a wedding in a mission and it was an interesting one to boot.  I ended up with the best seat in the house and it allowed me to capture some unique and memorable moments of the traditional Catholic ceremony.

Chelsea, thank you so much for having me photograph this wedding with you. But most importantly, Naomi and Mark, thank you so very much for letting me be a part of your sacred day.  You are truly a beautiful couple inside and out and I wish you all the love and happiness all of your days together.

Now for a peak at some of the blessed moments I was able to capture for Naomi and Mark.

Happy New Year to all!!
